SFP光模塊

SFP光模塊產(chǎn)品是出現的比較晚的光模塊,但也是當前應用最廣泛的光模塊產(chǎn)品。

SFP光模塊概念

SFP(Small Form-factor Pluggables)很多人都把其理解為GBIC的升級版本。SFP光模塊體積比GBIC光模塊至少減少一半,可以在相同面板上配置多出一倍以上的端口 數量。由于SFP模塊在功能上與GBIC基本一致,因此,也被有些交換機廠(chǎng)商稱(chēng)為小型化GBIC(Mini-GBIC)。

SFP光模塊的發(fā)展

GBIC與SFF在光模塊發(fā)展過(guò)程中都曾經(jīng)有過(guò)非常非凡的歷史,隨著(zhù)網(wǎng)絡(luò )的快速發(fā)展,它們也逐漸被SFP光模塊取代。

SFP光模塊更是SFF與GBIC光模塊的發(fā)展,因為SFF與GBIC是1X9光模塊之后兩個(gè)方向發(fā)展的產(chǎn)品,都有自己的優(yōu)點(diǎn):小型化與熱插拔。

SFP 光模塊繼承了GBIC的熱插拔特性,也借鑒了SFF小型化的優(yōu)勢。采用LC頭,其體積僅為GBIC模塊的1/2到1/3,  極大的增加了網(wǎng)絡(luò )設備的端口密度,適應了網(wǎng)絡(luò )迅猛發(fā)展的趨勢,因此得到了最廣范的應用,目前主要的設備廠(chǎng)商,無(wú)一例外摒棄的GBIC產(chǎn)品,只采用SFP光 模塊產(chǎn)品。由于采用了統一的標準,各廠(chǎng)家的SFP產(chǎn)品可以兼容,SFP產(chǎn)品可作為一種單獨的網(wǎng)絡(luò )設備采購。

雖然目前已經(jīng)出現了許多更高技術(shù),更新的光模塊產(chǎn)品,但SFP光模塊依然會(huì )繼續存在很長(cháng)時(shí)間。在SFP之后,光模塊的發(fā)展主要是向著(zhù)更高速率的發(fā)展,現在已經(jīng)出現了10G,40G,100G等光模塊。其中SFP+光模塊相信會(huì )是SFP之后被廣泛應用的一代產(chǎn)品。
